Project Description
As part of the END RHD Campaign Nepal, the Rotary Club of Patan, in collaboration with the Nepal Heart Foundation, conducted a comprehensive heart screening programme at Paathsala Nepal Foundation School, Bagdol, Lalitpur, on 26 August 2026. The programme benefited 825 school children, who received preliminary heart screening by a team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to identify possible abnormal heart murmurs. 34 students identified with abnormal murmurs were provided with further assessment through portable echocardiography, enabling more detailed evaluation. The suspected cases were reviewed by the medical team led by Prof. Dr. Prakash Raj Regmi, and no positive cases were diagnosed during the event. Through this collaborative initiative, Rotary Club of Patan contributed to the effort of promoting preventive healthcare, early identification, and awareness of Rheumatic Heart Disease among school children. The programme reflects Rotary’s commitment to improving community health and creating a lasting impact through meaningful partnerships and accessible health services.
